Time Flies, but You’re the Pilot

Ever missed the beginning of a movie and had a hard time catching up? Do your best to arrive at least 10-15 minutes before the class start time, settle in and center. You’ll be glad you did. We understand that life happens and we’ll happily admit you if you arrive within 5 minutes of class beginning.

Tip Toe Through the Tulips

So, you’re tardy but admitted to class. It’s time to put on your mindful hat and enter quietly and respectfully. Yes, we’re serious about the tiptoeing. Try not to draw attention to yourself. Lay your mat out as quietly as possible. No tardy admittance after 5 minutes from the start of class.

Gotta Go?

Whether it’s a trip to the loo or you’re slipping out early, please do so quietly.

Disconnect to Connect

Cell phones do not belong in the yoga classroom. It’s best to develop a healthy habit of turning your ringers off, vibrations settings included, before you enter Greenheart. On-duty Firefighters excluded.

Common Scents

As a kind courtesy, please leave your Old Spice and Jo Malone at home in your powder room, off your body.  The smell of smoke and bottled fragrances can be distracting and even trigger allergic reactions for some.  Come to class fresh and clean.

Perspire Much?

Then prepare. If you sweat often and a lot, make your yoga experience more pleasurable by bringing a towel with you to class.

No Shirt? No Yoga.

Keep your shirt on! Greenheart requires all humans, students and teachers alike, to wear tops in the studio.

Let’s Play the Quiet Game…

Although it can be quite tempting to talk before and during class, cheer a classmate on with verbal encouragement, or share a personal story with the group, POR FAVOR save it. Bite your tongue. Do what you have to do to practice presence and hold on to what you have to say until after the session is over. Unsolicited, excessive chatter is distracting to instructors and students alike.

Follow the Leader – Multiple Choice

So your teacher says let’s do tree, but you are really itching to do crow. What is the appropriate action?

A. Do crow and show everyone else how great you are at it.

B. Get into tree like the rest of your class and save your crow pose for later.

C. Interrupt the instructor and ask permission to do crow instead.

The correct answer is… B.

Sneezing and Wheezing

If you are sick with a cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fever or chills within the last 14 days or are currently under quarantine/isolation, be kind to your fellow yogis and stay away. As much as we’d love to have you here, we suggest you take that time for some rest and relaxation or livestream from the comfort of your home.
